Recent years have been tough for a lot of people.


Aside from the relatively constant flow of news about current events, potential war and viruses, many have found themselves struggling in their careers.


Leading up to this difficult time, it's never too early to start working on yourself and strengthening your personal relationships.


In this blog post, I am going to explore and provide 6 great ways how to improve your self-confidence and be more assured in your life.

Number 1 - Practice Affirmations Daily


Affirmations are used in many different areas of life, including helping someone overcome depression or stay positive in times of hardship.


For confidence, it's important to vocalize positive thoughts regarding your own abilities, strengths and potential.


When confirming positive and safe sentences our brains translate that as the true event.


Therefore, you can even feel it in your body that you become calmer and more assured of yourself.


You can use affirmations like: “I am safe”, “I am worthy”, “I am protected”, “I’ve got this”.



Number 2 - Take Action


When you change your actions to match the beliefs you have about yourself, you will be more likely to see yourself as successful (and thus more confident).


This can be done by stretching goals or imagining outcome before it happens.


And really starting with small steps towards any dream or goal you have for yourself.



Number 3 - Identify Assets


Examine what you have that others don't and utilize these in your life.


Don't let others define who you are.


You can also take a look at what skills or resources others have in comparison with yours and bring them to the forefront of your mind.


Gratitude for what you have gives you a self-confidence boost that many people are lacking.



Number 4 - Stop Comparing


Comparing yourself to others is a way to feel less and not more. Everyone has their own set of skills and these should be appreciated for what they are.


Try this little exercise by going in front of the mirror and finding at least 1 thing that you like about yourself and start there.


I bet you have beautiful eyes or eyelashes?


The colour of your eyes?


There must be something.


Then start every day appreciate that.


Realise, there is only one of you who have this.


Nobody else. You are unique & worthy!



Number 5 - Ask For Help


This can seem like a difficult step, especially if you are used to being independent.


However, it is important to know when to ask for help.


You see, our confidence can depend on the decisions we are able to make.


How empowering it would be for you, to finally be able to let go of something.


How about that task that seems only you can do it but eventually if you can delegate that in other words ask for help - you would benefit somebody else who can learn from you.


By empowering others, we can empower ourselves.


Trust in others.


Number 6 - Go With The Flow


When you are truly confident, you will know that everything will work out the way it's supposed to.


In times of crisis or change, don't get down on yourself or become defensive.


Remain calm and work through the problem at hand without letting your emotions have too much control over you.
